Atonement
Year: 2007
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Romance
Country: United Kingdom

The movie was filmed in Great Britain. The famous historical event on the beach at Dunkirk in France was filmed in the small British town of Redcar. On the shoreline of the North Sea, the crew placed the wreckage of a wrecked ship, and several coastal houses were repainted to match the time of World War II. The screen home of the Tallis family was the Stocksy Court mansion. It was chosen for its exterior and backyard fountain to match the plot of the novel on which the movie is based. All tours now conducted at the estate invariably focus on the story of the making of the movie. The revenue generated from tour groups helps the owners a great deal to maintain the house.
