Scene was shot The courthouse, originally known as the New York County Courthouse, houses the Civil and Appellate Terms of the New York State Supreme Court. Construction of the courthouse ran from 1913 until 1927 with a delay due to World War I and replaced the Tweed Courthouse to the west. The building was designed by Guy Lowell in the Roman classical style for a princely sum of $30 million. At the center of the courthouse is the 75 foot tall rotunda featuring a mural known as Law Through the Ages designed by Attilio Pusterla under the Works Project Administration.

The park was named for the founding father Thomas Paine while the square was named for a local civic leader and saloon owner "Big Tom" Foley. The space has been a common area since the Collect Pond which formerly stood at this location was filled up in 1811, and the park and square were officially joined in 2005.

Scene was shot Bryant Park is situated in midtown and contains the New York Public Library. The park originally open in 1847 as Reservoir Square, and was renamed Bryant Park in 1884. The park deteriorated over the years until a renovation in the 1980s, when the entire park was rebuilt over the newly constructed underground library stacks.

Scene was shot Built in 1941 atop a former amusement park, the R. C. Harris plant currently provides almost half of Toronto's drinking water. The building was designed in the art-deco style and is known colloquially as the Palace of Purification for its grand architecture both inside and out. The plant was named after Rowland Caldwell Harris, who was Toronto's Commissioner of Works at the time of construction.
