Locations
Diner
In movie
Scene where Brit, Candy and Cotty drive up in a car to the cafe. They put on masks, take a gun and a sledgehammer. Two heroines enter the restaurant and start threatening customers, the third is waiting in the car. The girls smash plates, run out of the cafe, get into the car and leave the scene of the crime with lightning speed.
Real
Scene was shot at B & M Country Cooking in Florida. To shoot this scene, the film crew needed an inconspicuous eatery, which was the diner in the town of St. Petersberg on Haines Road North. This diner is no longer in operation
Dormitory
In movie
Scene where Brit, Candy and Cotty return to the dormitory after a night of partying. They wake Faith up and drag her out of bed. The four girls have a cookout in the dorm hallway. They dance, crawl on the floor and hum songs
Real
Scene was shot at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota. The 24-acre residential campus provided the film crew with great locations for filming dorm scenes. They were able to capture the quiet, secluded locations that were much needed to capture the atmosphere of the movie.
Parking lot next to the diner
In movie
Scene where the girls party in the parking lot next to the diner, drinking alcohol, dancing and singing a Britney Spears song. Brit and Candy act out the robbery in front of Faith. They parody themselves: they repeat the phrases they used during the crime
Real
Scene was shot outside a Twistee Treat ice cream store in St. Pete Beach, Florida. The heroines dance on the parkways of the inconspicuous cafe, just like in the robbery scene. And only the distinctive ice cream cup-shaped structure gives away their true location.
