Scene was shot in the main building of the New York Public Library. It was completed in 1910 but didn't open until 1911, as it took a year to put more than one million books on the shelves. In the 1980s, the library was expanded under neighboring Bryant Park, where miles of new shelves were installed to hold the growing collection.
