While the Grand Lodge occupied the site since 1775, the current hall wasn't constructed until 1933 in the Art Deco style by architects Henry Victor Ashley and F. Winton Newman in honor of the Freemasons who died in WWI. The building contains the Grand Temple, where the Grand Lodge meets, 26 other masonic temples for local chapters, and the Museum of Freemasonry.
