Where was The Passenger filmed
Professione: reporter
Year: 1975
Country: Germany, Spain, United Kingdom

The film was shot on location in Spain, England, Germany and Algeria. The main scenes in Spain were filmed in Barcelona, the country's largest shopping center. The Ramblas, one of the oldest and most picturesque streets in Europe, was used here. The Guell Palace, designed by Antoni Gaudi, was the scene of the meeting between the characters of Jack Nicholson and Maria Schneider. The building was originally built as a private residence for a textile magnate, but now it is a museum and is an unusual architectural work in the spirit of Catalan modernism. From Barcelona, the crew traveled to Almeria, where they worked in the streets of the city and among the orange groves, and then to Malaga, a popular resort in the south of the country. The next destination was Seville, an ancient Andalusian city with a rich architectural heritage. After that, filming continued in Algeria, where for two weeks the group worked in Fort Polignac, located in a deserted area. These scenes also depicted the territory of the African state of Chad. In Algeria, the crew lived in tents, adapting to the hot climate and minimal conditions. The filming period was completed in the UK: about five weeks were spent in London, shooting scenes in Georgian Square, a television studio and an apartment complex in the Bloomsbury area.
