Where was The Secret of My Success filmed

The Secret of My Success

Year: 1987

Genre: Comedy, Romance

Country: USA

A 1987 American comedy film directed and produced by Herbert Ross, it was a notable project of the time. It starred Michael J. Fox and Helen Slater in the lead roles. Filming took place in and around Manhattan. The actual 300-acre estate on the banks of the Hudson River near Mount Kisco, N.Y. - about an hour's drive from downtown Manhattan, according to the American Film Institute - was used for scenes at the Prescott Country Estate. Main character Brantley's first job, from which he was fired literally on his first day, was filmed at 101 Park Avenue - the building later became known as the exterior of the Clamp headquarters in the movie Gremlins 2. The lobby and building facade of the fictional Pemrose Company were filmed in what was then the newest office building at 599 Lexington Avenue. Due to the fact that the building was virtually empty, filming was easy and unrestricted. This created an authentic and rich visual picture of 1980s Manhattan, where the dynamics of the corporate world are juxtaposed with personal adventure and romance.
