The movie was filmed in New York and New Jersey. The crew transformed the local streets into the Manhattan of the 1960s. Production took place all over the state, from Jersey City and Hoboken to Newark and Paterson. A total of 20 cities and towns in 10 counties were involved.

Scene was shot on Washington Street in Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. Gerde's Folk City was one of the most influential American music clubs, where many famous musicians began their careers. It was located in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, New York and closed in 1987. To recreate the club on screen, the movie team went to Washington Street and furnished one of the houses there.

Scene was shot on Jersey Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. The buildings on this street are perfect for creating the image of the city of the 60s. The authors turned one of the oldest neighborhoods of Jersey City into a retro version of Greenwich Village.
