<p>Filming took place in the summer of 1974 in Yaroslavl. In one of the first scenes, the audience sees the reflection in a puddle of the Church of Elijah the Prophet on Sovetskaya (formerly Ilyinskaya) Square. The scene in which Afonya, pretending to be lame, sits in a crowded bus, was filmed on Volkov Square. The housing department, where Afonya worked, was located not far from the hero's home - in the basement of house No. 63 on Leningradsky Prospekt. In the same neighborhood (50 Elena Kolesova Street) there was also a cafe “Assol”, where the plasterer Kolya and Afonya met each other</p>
