<p>The chilling horror movie was filmed in picturesque California locations and studio sets. Principal photography took place in Burbank, where Warner Brothers Studios provided the set for much of the movie. Warner Brothers&#39; 26th set recreated the detailed set of the Mullins house, creating an ominous atmosphere in which key events of the film unfold. The asylum scenes were filmed at the Clark Residence apartment complex located on Loma Drive in downtown Los Angeles. In addition, the film crew worked outside of the city. The exterior scenes of the Mullins home were filmed at Big Sky Movie Ranch in Simi Valley (Ventura County). This famous ranch is often used in movie production and added an air of seclusion and mysticism to the movie.</p>
