Argo
Year: 2012
Genre: Drama, Historical, Thriller

The Oscar-winning movie “Operation Argo” was filmed in various locations around the world. Although the action takes place in Tehran, Iran, not a single minute of the movie was filmed there. Instead, “Operation Argo” was filmed in colorful locations such as Istanbul, Turkey, as well as Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills. These diverse locations provided unique backdrops that brought the story to life with authenticity and visual richness. Los Angeles is home to the largest Persian community outside of Iran, and it was here, at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, that much of the movie's production took place. The backdrop for the scenes in Istanbul was the Yeni Jami Mosque or New Mosque.

Real
Scene was shot at the Sepulvid Medical Center in Los Angeles. This sprawling complex of 18 buildings was chosen for its striking resemblance to an embassy, especially with its red brick facade. The result is so realistic that it's hard to believe a key scene was shot in North Hills, Los Angeles.
