A classic comedy with cult humor by Rodney Dangerfield. In the movie, he plays the rich but uneducated Thornton Melon, a father who decides to show solidarity with his spoiled son Jason by going to college and setting an example of hard work and determination. Most of the comedy's scenes were filmed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which is referred to in the movie as Grand Lakes University. The University of Wisconsin-Madison provided a memorable backdrop for the movie with its stunning architecture and picturesque campus surroundings. It is also surrounded by many interesting attractions such as the Union Memorial Terrace, the Wisconsin State Capitol, and the University Arboretum.

Scene where Thornton Melon pulls up to the dorm building. He hopes to quickly find his son's room, but inadvertently (we hope) enters the women's dormitory building. There, it is explained to him in a straightforward manner that the man is in the wrong place.
Real
Scene was shot in The Row House - USC, an apartment building located in Los Angeles. It is an apartment complex near the University of Southern California. The luxury apartments are located in close proximity to the University of Southern California campus, making them ideal for students who want to live in comfort and walking distance to the academic buildings.
Swimming pool
In movie
Scene where Thornton and his son Jason gradually develop a relationship as Grand Lakes University begins to win the diving competition. In retaliation against Jason for his success and relationship with Valerie, Chas pretends to suffer from a cramp in hopes of sabotaging the team's chances. However, realizing the dire need for a replacement, the coach brings Thornton off the bench (or rather, the spectator bench). Due to his outstanding skills, Thornton performs the famous “Triple Lindy” jump, ultimately securing the victory for the team.
