Where was Balkanskiy rubezh filmed

Балканский рубеж

Year: 2019

Genre: Action

Country: Russia, Serbia

The movie was filmed in Moscow, Moscow Region, Serbia and Crimea. Part of the film was shot in Belgrade, as well as in places far from the capital. Serbian villages Shtitkovo, Semegnevo, Nova Varosh and Vrelo temporarily transformed into the arena of hostilities. The Russian part of the filming took place in different parts of the country, both in real secret military facilities (so many of the locations are not advertised), and on the already unused. For example, on the territory of the “Film Factory” - the former territory of the military base - the team filmed a Serbian house destroyed by bombing, a brothel and an airport. And part of the movement of a peacekeeping convoy with a huge amount of military equipment was filmed in Alabin.

Locations

  • Bridge

    In movie

Scene where Beck (Gosha Kutsenko) drives a car through a crowd on a bridge in Belgrade. People have crowded the bridge, they are dancing, singing, and holding placards protesting NATO aggression. Beck takes his comrade Girei (Nodari Janelidze) on a mission

    Real

Scene was shot on the Old Savski Bridge in Belgrade. In 1999, the residents of the Yugoslav capital acted as human shields, covering strategically important bridges: Pancevski and Brankov. They hoped that these bridges would not be hit by missile attacks as long as people were on them. It was extremely important for the creators of the movie to convey this atmosphere, so they filmed on a real location.

  • Slatina Airport

    In movie

Scene where the heroes are preparing to defend Slatina airport from a KFOR unit. They have taken up positions and are waiting, looking carefully through their rifle scopes. The international group of fighters tell each other good stories over the radio to lighten the mood. Some are joking, some are confessing things they have been holding in for a long time, some are smiling silently.

    Real

Scene was shot near Koktebel on the mountain Uzun-Syrtna. Here is an old airfield and it is a base for paragliders. A small area and only a few buildings became an excellent setting for the on-screen realization of the airport "Slatina" - an important object, which in reality had to be captured before the enemies.

  • The house of a Serbian speculator

    In movie

Scene where Andrei (Anton Pampushny) comes to get a fake passport at the house of a speculator. At the same time, the police decide to organize a raid: two policemen conduct a search, while the third tries to find out from the hero for what purpose he is on Serbian territory.

    Real

Scene was shot in the Schroeder-Williams mansion in Moscow. The interior and exterior decoration of this two-storey house, built in the second half of the 19th century to an English design, set the right atmosphere required for this scene. The first floor of the mansion is residential, and it took the creators quite a long time to obtain permission to film from the descendants of the scientist Vasily Williams.
