Sebastian manages to intercept Annette on the subway, and there he confesses that he is in love with her and that his feelings are mutual. Realizing his mistake and determined to correct it, Sebastian later gives Annette his diary to prove the sincerity of his feelings and intentions towards her.

The Queensboro Bridge fits perfectly into the scene in which Sebastian tries to stop Annette from leaving the city, due to its impressive view of the New York City panorama.
