Where was Dragonfly filmed

Dragonfly

Year: 2002

Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller

Country: USA

Although the movie is set in Venezuela, much of the filming took place in California and Los Angeles. For example, in one particularly memorable scene in the movie, Joe sees a flooded bus in a Venezuelan river and jumps right into the torrent of water. Instead of Venezuela, this scene was filmed on the Middle Fork American River in Northern California, known for its powerful rapids and rough waters. Other scenes, presumably taking place in South America, were filmed at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, and the waterfall footage was shot on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
