Immerse yourself in the harsh reality of the New York underworld depicted in Martin Scorsese's iconic Oscar-winning film. Filming took place in different neighborhoods such as Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Long Island. In Queens, you can walk through the places of Henry Hill's youth, check out the Jackson Hole Diner or the Tropicana Lounge bar. In Brooklyn, scenes were shot at the Bamba Lounge and Collaros Italian Restaurant. In Manhattan, the key location was the nightclub “Copacabana” on East 60th Street, as well as the streets of the Meatpacking District, where the important events of the film unfolded. One of the most famous locations is Neer's Tavern in Woodhaven, Queens, where Jimmy trashes his crew for being wasteful after a successful robbery. These locations are not just filming locations, but part of the history of New York City and its criminal past. A walk through these locations is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the cult movie and touch the legendary image of the city.

  • Banquet Hall

    In movie

Scene where Henry and Karen's wedding ceremony takes place. The festive moment is filled with an atmosphere of wealth and sophistication. The guests, surrounding the newlyweds, shower them with gifts of money, as if symbolizing their connection to the world where power and money rule everything.

    Real

Scene was shot at the Oriental Maynor Hall, located at 1818 86th Street in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. This building was once a famous venue for weddings and other celebrations. Interestingly, the Oriental Maynor was also known for its ghost stories, with staff and locals often reporting unexplained footsteps and doors that opened and closed independently of each other. However, the hall closed in 2007 and the building has since been converted into a department store called American Place.

  • Henry's house as a young man

    In movie

Scene where Henry was simply fascinated by the Lucchese crime family, gangsters who lived in his neighborhood. The young man regularly watched them from his bedroom window. Their lifestyle and charisma made him drop out of school in 1955 and join the Mafia.

    Real

Scene was shot in a house on 32nd Street in Astoria, Queens. This neighborhood became young Henry's “Brooklyn” home. The house overlooks the street where gangsters in strict suits parked their cars, including Cadillacs. Today, the neighborhood has retained its residential character, but many of the movie locations have either been closed or demolished over time.

  • Restaurant

    In movie

Scene where Tommy asked Henry out on a double date. Henry had important business to attend to, so he couldn't stay long enough to have dinner, which upset Karen greatly. Nevertheless, they agreed to meet up next time.

    Real

Scene was shot at the Copacabana on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. This establishment has a long history in movies and show business. The restaurant has also appeared in movies such as Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull and Brian De Palma's Carlito's Way. However, it closed in 1992 and is now replaced by Avra Madison Restaurant, known for its Greek menu, fresh fish and spacious outdoor terraces.
