All shootings of our favorite New Years comedy took place in Chicago and New York in the USA. The director does not use any specially built sets, therefore all we see in the picture are real buildings in New York, most of which can still be visited. There are quite a few landmarks, such as the Plaza Hotel and a toy store in Manhattan, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Carnegie Hall and many others. The McCallister’s house itself was filmed in the same way as in the first part - in a private house on the shore of Lake Michigan. Recently, this house became available for anyone to purchase.
Locations
McCallister's house
Scene where at the very beginning of the film, we see the McCallister’s House, where all the children of Peter McCallister and his brother were gathered.
Scene was shot in the same house that was filmed in the first part of the film and has now become some sort of a Mecca for tourists. This house is private and cannot be visited. Apparently, the attention of the fans is so tiring for the owners of the house that its image is not even on Google maps, it cannot be viewed in Street View mode. The house is located in Chicago, on Lake Michigan’s third line.

Uncle's Rob house
Scene where Kevin comes to his uncle's house to fight against the Sticky Bandits.
Scene was shot in a large townhouse that had undergoing renovations according to the film. It is interesting that during the shooting, there was also a renovation going on in real life.

Fulton Fish Market
Scene where Wet bandits leave the van full of fish and are finally free
Scene was shot Fulton Fish Market, which used to be on Fulton Street, unfortunately moved to a new location in 2005, therefore it will not be possible to visit it. We marked the past location of the market on the map. Now it is marked on Google Maps as a landscape.

Miami International Airport
Scene where Family gets luggage in the Airport and understand is Kevin was lost.
Scene was shot in the Los Angeles International Airport(LAX) actually, not in Miami. LAX is the fourth busiest airport in the world (2nd in the United States) that covers over 3,500 acres near the beach between Westchester & El Segundo. The airport first opened in 1930 under the name Mines Field and got its current name in 1949. Four parallel runways serve the airport the longest of which is almost 13,000 ft long. LAX has nine passenger terminals with 128 gates as well as a cargo terminal and heliport. The distinctive googie-style Theme Building in the center of the terminal complex was designed in 1961 by architect Paul Williams. The arched structure contains a panoramic retro-futuristic restaurant with views of the airport.

Ed Koch Queensboro bridge
New York Ed Koch Queensboro bridge
Scene where Kevin takes a taxi around New York from the airport to the city center.
Scene was shot on the real Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, which connects Long Island and Manhattan. This scene only takes up a few seconds of the movie's running time, but it's very important. After this scene begins Kevin's journey around New York and exactly here, on this bridge, he takes this famous shot when he takes a picture leaning out of the taxi window.

Real
In movie
Empire Diner
Scene where where Kevin walks in the city streets and takes a flyer from Santa Claus on stilts.
Scene was shot next to the famous Empire Diner, which is located in Manhattan. This place is still open and anyone can visit it. In summer, the sidewalk near the cafe is occupied by a terrace, and a huge graffiti now flaunts above the building.

Real
In movie
Duncan's Toy Chest
Scene where Kevin arrives to Duncan's Toy Chest in a limousine.
Scene was shot in the real FAO Schwarz toy store, since Duncan's Toy Chest doesn't exist, it was made up for the movie. The store is still open for the public. By the way, an interesting fact - in the film, Kevin went to the toy store in a limousine, but in the reality the store is very close (500 meters) to the Plaza Hotel and it is quite possible to walk there.

Real
In movie
Carnegie Hall - House of a woman with pigeons
Scene where Kevin come to 'woman with pigeons' home
Scene was shot in the concert hall of Carnegie Hall, in New York, it was there, in the attic, where lived a woman with pigeons. I think, that the director chose it because of its location - since it is few hundred meters away from the Plaza Hotel and young Kevin could easily walk there, and the woman with pigeons would really feed the them close to her home. You can see the building from the outside without any problems, but you can only get inside with the concert tickets, which can be quite expensive.

Real
In movie
Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center
Scene where Kevin makes a wish at the Christmas tree and meets his mother.
Scene was shot near the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. This is a favorite place for New Yorkers and the city's main Christmas tree. Access to this space is free and it is best to go there during the Christmas time.

Real
In movie
Hotel plaza
Scene where All scene in hotel
Scene was shot All shootings of the Plaza Hotel, both outside and inside of the building, took place in a real hotel, in real rooms. The hotel is still operating, located in Manhattan opposite the Central Park.
