Ray entertains his friends with a horror story about a crazed killer with a hook instead of a hand who escaped from an insane asylum. Of course, his friends all have different ideas about what exactly is going on in the story and how it should be told.

    Scene was shot On Skoolhouse Beach in northern California, about 25 miles west of Santa Rosa. The beach is easy to find near the Coastal Highway. It is referred to as Dawson's Beach in the movie as a reference to Dawson's Creek, which was also created by screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

    Scene where Ray gets behind the wheel as Barry continues to party. With his head out of the sunroof, hooting and hollering, Barry takes a sip from the bottle, oblivious to the fact that they are approaching a winding part of the highway. Barry drops the bottle into the car, and Ray is distracted by what's happening. “Look out!” - yells Barry from the roof, just before the car crashes into a mysterious figure on the road.

    Scene was shot At 209 Short Street in Southport, North Carolina. Julie's house is less than a half mile walk from downtown. It's a cute and cozy building that is perfect for filming the characters' daily lives.
