<p>The movie was shot mainly in Crimea. The main filming locations were the surroundings of Alushta and the village of Luchistoe, where the Valley of Ghosts is located. Also scenes were filmed in the Nikita cleft near the village of Nikita, which was used for the mountaineering camp scene. Some episodes were filmed on the Ai-Petri serpentine and near the village of Kuibyshevo. The only scene filmed in the Caucasus is Shurik's rescue from a raging river, which was filmed on the Mzymta River near Sochi. In addition, a small part of the shooting took place in Abkhazia, on the road to Lake Ritsa. Other locations used in Crimea included the Yunost Hotel in Alushta and the Chaika resort.</p>

Scene where Shurik, determined to help Nina, goes to the prosecutor's office to report the kidnapping. However, he finds himself at a feast, where he is welcomed as an honored guest and invited to the table.Not calculating his strength, Shurik participates in the feast, where he is offered a lot of wine. He tries to refuse, but ends up getting very drunk. After Shurik gets very drunk, he is taken to a psychiatric hospital on the orders of Saakhov, who wants to get rid of him as a witness to Nina's kidnapping.

Scene was shot in Alushta, Crimea. The Kapitanaka house, where the holiday scene was filmed, is located here. It is a regular street with old houses, which added to the atmosphere of a provincial town to the movie. Alushta was chosen as the main filming location because of the proximity of the Yalta Film Studio and the fact that the city was not so well known in the cinematic community, which allowed for a more authentic setting.

Scene where Shurik, determined to escape, uses his ingenuity and intelligence to fool the orderlies. He pretends to be crazy, which allows him to distract the guards. Seizing the moment, Shurik makes a dash for a high wall, but it proves to be an insurmountable obstacle. However, he notices a child's swing and asks the other patients to help him to swing over the wall. After jumping, he falls right onto a passing car, which turns out to be loaded with mattresses. Unfortunately, this car is heading back to the hospital, so Shurik quickly jumps off it and starts running in the opposite direction along a tall fence.

Scene was shot on Voykov Street (now Karamanova Street). This location was chosen because of its suitable architecture and high wall, which was ideal for the escape scene. There was a cannery named after May 1, whose wall was used as the setting for the psychiatric hospital. The high white wall was the perfect backdrop for Shurik's escape scene.

Scene where Shurik arrives in the Caucasus. He is greeted with great hospitality, taken to various establishments, demonstrating traditional Caucasian cordiality. One of the highlights is a visit to a street kebab shop, where he is offered to drink wine from a ram's horn. In this scene Shurik and his companions raise a toast to cybernetics, which adds comic and unexpectedness to the traditional Caucasian setting.

Scene was shot filmed in Alushta, Crimea. The shooting took place on the trolleybus ring. This place was chosen because of its picturesqueness and the fact that it offers a beautiful view of the mountains. Such a setting allowed to create the atmosphere of a hospitable and picturesque city. Director Leonid Gaidai chose Alushta as the main filming location because of its accessibility and beauty. The Crimean nature and architecture were ideal for creating the atmosphere of the mountainous area described in the movie.
