Legends of the Fall
Year: 1994
Genre: Drama, Romance, Western

The picture is a 1994 epic western drama directed by Edward Zwick. It stars an impressive cast, including Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn and Julia Ormond. The movie follows the Ludlow family through several decades as they experience tragedy, triumph and heartbreak. Filming Legends of the Fall required careful scouting of locations that would perfectly match the director's visual vision. For this purpose, the team traveled to Canada and Jamaica. Major scenes were filmed in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and in St. Ann's County in Jamaica. The backdrop of Gastown Harbour in British Columbia was transformed to create street and business scenes, and a location in southern Alberta was used for World War I battles, where real soldiers were hired as extras. The cemetery scenes were filmed near Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. Several key scenes were also filmed in St. Anne's County, Jamaica, using landscapes reminiscent of Polynesia.
