Almost the whole movie was shot in St. Petersburg in real houses, streets and beaches. It was important for the director to shoot in real apartments in order to convey the spirit of the 80s and the atmosphere that reigned around and inside the underground musicians' hangout.

The real location where the Naumenko family lived on Borovaya Street in house number 18 did not suit the creators of the picture, so another apartment was chosen, which had been for sale for many years.
