<p>This biographical movie tells the story of Soviet pilot Lidia Litvyak. She was a fighter pilot, an aviation squadron commander and a junior lieutenant of the Guards. Lidia became a Hero of the Soviet Union for her bravery in the fight for the Motherland. She tragically died at the age of 21, defending the country in battle on the Mius front. The film crew worked in the harsh conditions of the Orenburg steppe, in the area of the village of Panika, located 40 kilometers from Orenburg. In conditions of intense heat and scorching sun, the actors and crew worked 12 hours a day, trying as quickly as possible to present to viewers a picture of the life and exploits of the Soviet pilot Lydia Litvyak. Part of the shooting took place in the pavilions of Lenfilm, where they recreated the look of the Stalingrad region in 1943. Here were built sets such as mazanki, huts, dugout, located near the military airfield, the command post of the regiment and the apartment of the protagonist. The sets were designed to be reusable, with the exception of Lydia's apartment.</p>
