Scene was shot Chicago Union Station is a major railroad station that opened in 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, replacing an earlier station built in 1881. It is the only remaining intercity rail terminal in Chicago, and is the city's primary terminal for commuter trains. It covers about nine and a half city blocks — mostly underground, buried beneath streets and skyscrapers.
Chicago Union Station is the third-busiest rail terminal in the United States, after Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station in New York City.
It handles about 140,000 passengers on an average weekday.

Scene was shot Plano is a city in Kendall County, Illinois, United States near Aurora, with a population of 10,856 at the 2010 census. Plano declared itself Smallville during the filming. Signs have been erected at either end of town, as well as on the end of one building on Main Street, proclaiming a similar declaration. Additionally, a Smallville Superfest was organized the following summer, and has since been held annually in August.
