<p>Filming of the movie “It can't be” took place in Astrakhan. Most of the street scenes were filmed there, because the local architecture in the 1970s has not changed much since the 1920s, when the events of the film take place.</p>

A good-quality house with a summer veranda was bought for 10,000 rubles (the sum was voiced in the movie itself).

Scene was shot in a house on Jean Jaurès Street in Astrakhan, right in front of the St. John Chrysostom Church. House No. 47 was transformed for this purpose: a terrace and a staircase were added to it, and beautiful carved platbands were made for the windows.

When Gorbushkin returns home in the evening, he sees bare walls and his wife in old woman's clothes sitting on strange furniture with a neighbor. A week later Gorbushkin is arrested after all.

Scene was shot Saratov State Law Academy Astrakhan branch (at that time) Astrakhan Palace of Pioneers. This was the place of filming the scene “At the investigator's”. Also for filming used Quiet Lane at the intersection with Fioletova Street. Right on the sidewalk, on the playground, built a set-cabinet investigator on a high platform overlooking the Kremlin. The set had three walls, and the missing wall was used for filming.
