<p>The war is over, and Alexei Ivanov returns to his hometown to see his wife Lyuba and his children, whom he has not seen for a long time. However, he is filled with anxious thoughts: what if the children have already forgotten him and his wife has lost her feelings for him? After reuniting with his loved ones, he realizes that it will not be easy to get used to a peaceful life after the war. The film “Father”, based on Andrei Platonov's story “The Return”, was filmed in Rybinsk. In the scenes of the picture we can see the central districts of the city, the Rybinsk house of merchant Pervov and the Volga embankment. </p>

Scene was shot At the intersection of Radishchev and Sovetskaya streets in Rybinsk. It was here that the main characters of the painting were traveling from the station. In the background we can see the historical Manor House of merchant Pervov. Although this house is a little away from the city center, it is known to many residents of Rybinsk due to its richly decorated facade, which stands out against the background of other buildings. Unfortunately, the architectural monument is in a deplorable condition. The stucco is gradually crumbling, and the roof needs serious restoration. But it is precisely this condition that helped to recreate the atmosphere of the post-war time. There are advantages to everything!

An eyewitness and photographer Vladimir Pinaev recalls: “Since the shooting location was not far from one of the Rybinsk branches of Sberbank, Alexei Guskov waited for some time to start work inside the building on the first floor. Employees of the bank did not miss the opportunity and asked to be photographed with the actor, to which he kindly agreed.”
