The filming process of Karen Oganesyan's movie took place in Moscow and North Ossetia. The North Caucasus republic was specially chosen for filming. “In North Ossetia there is the village of Dargavs, famous for its stunning views, beautiful architecture and a unique attraction - the necropolis 'City of the Dead'. I have known this place since my university days: its history leaves a strong impression. We decided to include it in the movie to at least indirectly tell the audience about this amazing monument and draw attention to it,” Benik Arakelyan, the producer of the movie and the author of the idea, shared. According to Arakelyan, the main feature of the necropolis is related to its history. “When people fell ill with the plague, in order not to endanger their relatives, they went to the crypts, where they found their last shelter,” he explained.
