Where was Starshiy syn filmed
Starshiy syn
Year: 1976
Genre: Drama
Country: USSR

The movie was shot in Leningrad. Since most of the scenes are set in the interiors of apartments and private houses, the creators needed a small area that could reliably convey the atmosphere of the Irkutsk suburb with a railroad station. A suitable place was found at the station “Rzhevka”. The film crew chose several houses of the first quarter of the XIX century, which were already scheduled for demolition. After the filming was completed, the buildings where the characters of the movie lived were indeed demolished.

Locations
Natalia's house
In movie
Scene where As we have already realized, Andrei Sarafanov came to talk to Natalia. She grudgingly asks: "Who else is there?". We do not judge Natalia, because night conversations are not an easy thing to do. However, she lets Andrei at home to dialog.
Real
Scene was shot Opposite the Sarafanovs' house, also near the Revolution highway. This location was convenient for both the crew and the frame. We see Yevgeny Leonov's character run a couple of meters and then he is already next to Natalia's house.
Railroad station
In movie
Scene where Vladimir Busygin and his new friend Silva are in a hurry to catch the last train. They rush to the station, because the next train will be only at 6 am. Unfortunately, despite their persistence and haste, they don't make it to the last train, which leaves right in front of their noses.
Real
Scene was shot At Rzhevka station, located on the Oktyabrskaya railroad in Russia. This station is an atmospheric place with a historical spirit and industrial flavor. It is located on the outskirts of St. Petersburg and serves as one of the oldest railroad stations in the region.
Sarafanov's apartment
In movie
Scene where Andrei Grigorievich Sarafanov leaves his apartment at night for a very important conversation with Natalia. In general, rarely unimportant conversations take place at this time of day. Throwing his cloak over his shoulders, he walks to the heroine's house.
Real
Scene was shot On the Revolutionary highway, presumably in house #63. There the film crew rented a part of the building. The Safronovs' apartment was furnished in such a way as to be as natural and close to real apartments of that time as possible.
