New York gave the film makers the opportunity to use unique cityscapes and locations. One of the most important locations was the duplicate building of the Park Avenue Medical Center in Manhattan, where Zoe undergoes the artificial insemination procedure. Scenes with a city backdrop took place on Franklin Street, Varick Street, as well as Duane Street. Zoe's first date with Stan happened at a cafe at 402 6th Avenue and West 8th Street in Manhattan. In addition, filming took place at the Botanical Gardens, and Zoe's apartment was at the intersection of Perry Street and Bleecker Street in Manhattan. Some New York locations were partially recreated in the Los Angeles studio, and post-production was also done.</p>
