Devchata

The movie tells the story of a young cook Tosya Kislitsyna. After graduating from a culinary school, she is assigned to the Ural timber farm “Bodrovsky”. Here she gets acquainted with her dormitory neighbors and a team of loggers. Her independent and determined character surprises the foreman Ilya Kovrigin, who makes a bet with his comrades: he is sure that he will be able to make Tosya fall in love with him in just a week. However, he soon becomes sincerely attached to her. Filming took place in Moscow, Yalta, as well as in the Perm, Tver and Ryazan regions. The scenery of the village of loggers erected in a ravine near “Mosfilm” - there built houses, planted hundreds of trees and installed a sign “Lespromkhoz”. Forest scenes were filmed in the Chusovsky district of the Perm region, in the vicinity of the village of Bobrovka. Actors had to work in harsh winter conditions - the temperature dropped to -30 °C. To protect the equipment from the frost, the operators wrapped the cameras in tuloupas. In the scene where Tosya brings loggers hot lunch, instead of soup in bowls poured boiling water to create the effect of steam, but even he quickly froze. In one of the takes Nikolai Rybnikov (Ilya Kovrigin) accidentally licked an aluminum spoon - the metal instantly froze to his lips, and the actor had to tear off the spoon along with the skin. In spring, filming moved to the Tver region, where they had to recreate the winter atmosphere: the decorators used tons of absorbent cotton to simulate snowdrifts, and torn paper and varnish - to create snow swirls and snow glitter. Episodes with the train were filmed on a narrow-gauge railroad in the Ryazan region. The final scenes were filmed at the Yalta Film Studio. In the famous shot where Tosya and Ilya sit embraced on the “Kamchatka”, the actors had to be filmed in tulups and valenki in the summer heat in the pavilion, which was a real challenge for them.

Scene was shot at the Yalta Film Studio, one of the oldest film studios in Russia, located on the picturesque Black Sea coast. The studio has a vast territory with pavilions equipped with everything necessary to create complex scenes. Real

Scene was shot on a narrow-gauge railroad in the Ryazan region, on the section between Spas-Klepiki and Pilevo stations. This railroad line was once used to transport timber and timber workers, making it the perfect place to create an authentic Siberian village atmosphere. At that time the narrow gauge railway was still in active use, but later it was abandoned and many of its sections were dismantled.
