Scene was shot Diablo Canyon is also known as Caja del Rio Canyon. It is a dissected plateau, of volcanic origin, which covers approximately 84,000 acres of land in northern Santa Fe County in New Mexico. The canyon is a popular local rock climbing area. From 2004, the Caja has been the focus of a grass roots campaign to develop recreational trail uses. The purpose of this campaign is to augment use of the Caja, rather than replacing grazing. The trail system is used primarily by mountain bike and horse riders.

Scene was shot Cerro Pelon Ranch is a large ranch estate in Santa Fe County, near the town of Galisteo. The set was originally constructed for the 1985 movie Silverado. It has been expanded and revised for productions that used it later. In 2007, during the filming of 3:10 to Yuma, a substantial number of buildings were added to the movie set. A fire caused by carelessly used pyrotechnics during the filming of the 1999 movie Wild Wild West destroyed the set. It was completely rebuilt.
The ranch was originally called the Cook Ranch. That later changed in the Cook Movie Ranch. In 2001 fashion designer Tom Ford bought the property. He changed the name to Cerro Pelon Ranch. He also used it to build ultramodern houses and facilities. Ford sold the ranch in 2021. It first came on the market in 2016 for $75 million, but its price tag was later cut to $48 million.
