    Real

Scene was shot at the Café des Artistes restaurant in Manhattan. This restaurant was a famous place in New York City, known for its romantic and whimsical atmosphere as well as its wall murals. It opened in 1917 and was a popular spot for many famous artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Norman Rockwell, and Rudolph Valentino. The restaurant was known for its sumptuous dinners and famous murals done by artist Howard Chandler Christie, who lived in a neighboring building. As a self-centered conductor, it is not surprising that Max chose this very place to meet Anna: the luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant fit his creative profession and his high social and financial status. Unfortunately, the original restaurant closed in 2009. In its place, a new restaurant, The Leopard at des Artistes, opened in 2011. It has carried on the traditions of its predecessor, preserving both Christie's famous murals and the high status of a place that often welcomes guests known for their power in New York society.

Despite all the challenges, Anna and Walter decide to overcome them and make the expensive renovations that will turn this ruin into their home.

    Real

Scene was shot in an actual 19th-century mansion in Lattingtown. This is a small community located about 25 miles east of Manhattan, not part of New York City itself, but rather a suburb. Lattingtown is known for its quiet atmosphere and historic homes, making it an attractive place for those looking for a quieter luxurious life outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. The mansion used in the movie was built in 1898 and is known as the Northway: it is a luxurious colonial-style house with many original details such as stone fireplaces and leaded glass. At the time of filming, it belonged to Eric Ridder, an Olympic sailing champion, and was in a dilapidated state. Thanks to this house and chose for filming. After the release of the tape in the rental mansion became popular in the United States. In 2002, he was sold for 2.1 million dollars. In the 2010s, the mansion was completely restored and sold in 2019 for about 3.5 million dollars, which was less than the cost of its renovation.

Walter and Anna realize that they can no longer stay there and begin to pack their belongings for eviction.

    Real

Scene was shot at The Langham in Manhattan. This historic building, built between 1905 and 1907 in the style of the Second French Empire, was considered one of the most modern apartment complexes in New York City in the early 20th century: each apartment had access to ice, which in those days was used to chill food and drinks, considered a major housing amenity when the building was built. In the movie, the luxurious apartment in the building belongs not to Anna, nor to her new boyfriend Walter, but to her ex-husband Max. Max is a wealthy businessman, and this apartment matches his financial status.
