Much of the series was filmed in New York City. This city is the most suitable for creating the dark atmosphere of Gotham because of the richness of architectural diversity and authentic cityscapes. In the footage, viewers can see the gloomy streets of Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens. One of the most challenging yet colorful locations was Crown Point. After the events of the 2022 Batman movie, this neighborhood was flooded. There, the least well-off residents of Gotham City are forced to cope with the aftermath of a terrorist attack. Production designer Kalina Ivanov drew inspiration from historical events, with similar living conditions common in the 19th century in New York City's infamous Five Points neighborhood. They created Crown Point by connecting different places such as Chinatown, the South Bronx, and Yonkers.
