    Scene was shot Salmon Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in Canada. You can even visit this place on your own. You can reach the glacier by road from Hyder, Alaska from early July to late September. This place has incredible beauty.

Upon discovering a huge alien spaceship, Macready says, “My God, how long do you think it's been in the ice?” Norris replies: “Well, considering the time it takes for an object to be dislodged up there, a very long time...”.
