V zone osobogo vnimaniya
Year: 1978
Genre: Action
Country: Lithuania

The movie became a real event of the Soviet cinematography not only because of the exciting story about paratroopers, but also because of the unprecedented support of the commander of the USSR Airborne Troops - General Vasily Margelov. It was he who insisted on the creation of this picture, personally supervised the shooting process and monitored the authenticity of every detail, down to the way the heroes are dressed. When the young director Andrei Malyukov suggested dressing paratroopers in caps, Margelov exploded: “I'll shoot you! Only in blue berets and no other way!” - he shouted. Although, in fact, the director was right: in real combat conditions paratroopers did not wear berets, so as not to demask themselves. But for the image and recognizability of heroes in the movie, there could be no compromise. Filming took place in Lithuania, in the training center of the Airborne Forces in Gaizhyunai and its surroundings. Actor Boris Galkin, who played the main role, arrived at the site almost a month earlier than the start of filming. He lived in the unit according to the army routine, participated in training, marching throws and together with the soldiers mastered military life. At first, the soldiers treated him with distrust - “Moscow thingy”, as they called him. But Galkin quickly proved his endurance and skill in hand-to-hand combat, gaining respect. The only thing that the actors were not allowed to do - to jump with a parachute. The director feared injuries that could disrupt the shooting schedule. The movie became a real hit: in 1978, it took 9th place in the Soviet box office, gathering 35.4 million viewers. A real sensation was the growth of interest in the Airborne Troops - the competition in the Ryazan school of paratroopers soared to 20 people per seat. However, the close attention of the military played a negative role. During editing, a significant part of the scenes were cut due to secrecy, although, according to the director, they were the most spectacular and powerful episodes.

All actions are carried out in conditions as close as possible to real combat conditions. The group under the command of Lieutenant Tarasov landed with parachutes in the area of a strategic bridge, from which they began their mission.
