Where was Who Framed Roger Rabbit filmed

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Year: 1988

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Mystery

Country: USA

The movie was shot in Los Angeles. This is not only because of the convenience for filming, but also a kind of omage to detective noirs. The movie is a family parody of detective movies, or maybe not even a parody, but a compilation of some kind of generalization of stamps. These movies were mostly filmed in Los Angeles and also told about that city. So the location was obvious.

Locations

  • Tunnel to Toon Town

    In movie

Scene where Detective Eddie Valiant pulls up to the tunnel that leads to TuniTown (Cartoon Town), he chases after a white car. But he stops and gets out of the car with his gun, as he hesitates to go to Cartoon Town. He drinks some whiskey, picks up the drawn gun and continues on his way.

    Real

Scene was shot at the entrance to the tunnel in Griffith Park, which is a large park in downtown Los Angeles. Most likely this place does not have any secret meaning, but just convenient enough for filming and in the evening there are not a lot of people. For the movie the arch was decorated with stucco to make the entrance to the city of cartoons look more solemn.
