The movie Wonka was filmed entirely in the UK, although this fictional city resembles a mixture of Paris, Prague and London. Many scenes were filmed in the studio, where a large number of locations, such as the city center and Wonka's store, were specially erected.
Willy Wonka's factory
In movie
Scene where Wonka enters an abandoned castle that will become his chocolate factory. We are shown how in his hands the space transforms and the scenery familiar to us from the Johnny Depp movie appears - chocolate meadows and rivers, as well as equipment for the production of magical sweets.
Real
Scene was shot in Bodiam Castle, which is located near the village of Robertsbridge in England, in the south-east of England to be exact. The castle has a square shape with round towers, just such a classic and fairy-tale look of the castle imagine when they hear this word. This was probably the main criterion for choosing it as the site for the future Wonka factory.
Cathedral
In movie
Scene where The chief of police walks into the city cathedral where a service is in progress, he bribes the alcoholic priest, played by Rowan Atkinson, to go down to a secret lair where the "chocolate conspiracy" is meeting and a giant supply of chocolate is kept in candy form and in a huge vat in liquid form.
Real
Scene was shot St. Paul's Cathedral, which is located in the heart of London. It is a large structure with high arched vaults, which when properly lit creates a very rich and solemn look, and it is also large in area, which easily allowed the dancing monks to be framed and left enough space to maintain the large-scale look.

The waterfront in the city
In movie
Scene where Wonka walks with a suitcase along the bay on a narrow concrete path jutting into the sea. This is his first appearance in the unnamed town where the movie takes place. In the first song, he tells us about his dream of becoming a famous and wealthy chocolatier who has decided to try his luck in this place, but he has very little savings that are melting before his eyes.
Real
Scene was shot this small causeway is part of a marina in the small town of Lyme Regis in the south of the UK, it has a very interesting shape, so it was chosen for the shot of Wonka's walk to emphasize the fabulousness of the town where he would live.
