Historical action film directed by Konstantin Buslov tells the story of the heroic defense of the city of Kozelsk, which became the target of an attack by the army of Khan Batyi. From the very beginning of work on the project, the creators paid great attention to the authenticity of historical details. Despite the fact that the film is not a documentary reconstruction, its plot is inspired by real events described in the chronicles of the defense of Kozelsk. The filming of the movie took place in the Tver and Moscow regions, where the city of Kozelsk was built from scratch.

Scene was shot in the Tver region, where the ancient town of Kozelsk was completely recreated from scratch using natural materials such as solid wood. Instead of separate streets, as is usually done in movies, a complete city was built that could theoretically be livable. After filming is complete, the set continues to be used by other film crews, and in the future the complex is planned to be turned into a full-fledged movie cluster.
