Kovaks arrives at the party with his pink backpack and after the party he joins back up with Elliot and Ortega in episode 1x03 “In a Lonely Place”.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (UBC)

Scene where Ortega checks the identification of the two fighters and later the party guests watch the fight in episode 1x03 “In a Lonely Place”.

Scene was shot The Chan Centre is a gorgeous performance venue located on the University of British Columbia campus. The main Chan Shun Concert Hall features a distinctive floating canopy and beautiful teak walls. The smaller Telus Studio Theatre features three-story stacked seating which can be moved into various configurations. The building also features the small Royal Bank Cinema, a beautiful soaring lobby, and various versatile backstage spaces.

BC Place Stadium

Scene where Mary Lou Henchy is chased to the roof by Rei and decides to jump off rather than be captured in episode 1x09 “Rage in Heaven”.

Scene was shot A large stadium in Vancouver’s downtown, BC Place originally opened in 1983 and featured an inflatable roof. After the roof was torn and deflated in 2007, the stadium was renovated and a retractable roof was installed (those tall columns above the building support the new roof).

Scene where Kovacs is put through orientation with the other awoken prisoners and then taken for a meeting with the warden in episode 1x01 “Out of the Past”.

Scene was shot This building opened in 1934 as a veterans treatment center for veterans of the First World War. This included the main building as well as the separate Veterans Dining Block. The main building was expanded in 1945 and reopened in 1949 as the Crease Clinic of Psychological Medicine, a short-term psychological treatment center. Now used almost exclusively for film production.

Britannia Mine Museum

Scene where Tak leads a CTAC assault team on his home planet but turns on them after encountering his sister in episode 1x07 “Nora Inu”.

Scene was shot Built inside the former Concentrator building of a copper mine, the Britannia Mine Museum is a National Historic Site which educates visitors on British Columbia’s mining industry. The processing facility operated for seventy years starting in 1904, with Mill #3 constructed in 1923. No mining actually took place in these tunnels as they were used to transport ore to the Howe Sound.

Scene was shot The recently opened West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre has been a popular building with filmmakers in the past five years. The building features a multi-story lobby connecting the underground portion of West Waterfront Road to the convention centre and Canada Place.

Scene where Mr. Leung murder's Kristen's entire family on Rei's orders in episode 1x09 “Rage in Heaven”. Mr. Leung tortures Ortega by repeatedly showing her the murder of her family in episode 1x10 “The Killers”.

Scene where Kovaks remembers playing with his sister on the shore when both of them were young in episode 1x01 “Out of the Past”. Quell reveals her connection to the stacks to Tak and they have sex in episode 1x07 “Nora Inu”.

Scene was shot This private bay just to the south of Britannia Beach is surrounded by imposing mountains and gives the impression of incredible remoteness while being very accessible via the Sea to Sky Highway.

Scene where Miriam Bancroft takes Kovacs into the mansion and shows off the Song Spire Tree that she had imported in episode 1x01 “Out of the Past”. Kovaks mingles in the party as a guest while Elliot poses as a waiter. Ortega spots Kovaks in the crowd and then heads off to talk with the fighters in episode 1x03 “In a Lonely Place”.

Scene was shot An Art Deco skyscraper built in 1930 which was the tallest building in the British Empire when it opened. A Vancouver heritage building.

Scene where Ortega wakes up in the morning and asks her tracking program to inform her if Kovaks moves in episode 1x02 “Fallen Angel”. Ortega brings her grandmother home in a borrowed sleeve to celebrate Día de los Muertos with the rest of the family in episode 1x04 “Force of Evil”. Kovacs reveals to Ortega that the duplicate body survived in episode 1x10 “The Killers”.

Scene was shot This large building that takes up an entire block in downtown Vancouver was the main Canada Post sorting facility since 1958 until it was sold in 2013 when a new facility near the airport opened. The site originally included a kilometer long underground tunnel leading to the waterfront so mail could be taken directly from ships to the facility. The offices have become very popular with productions since their shutdown, with some even using them as sound stages.

Scene was shot The University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology is a tourist as well as research and teaching museum. A major focus of the collection is on First Nation works of the Pacific Northwest. The building was constructed in 1976 by the architect Arthur Erickson in the post-and-beam architectural style of the coastal First Nations people.
