Scene was shot Built in 1941 atop a former amusement park, the R. C. Harris plant currently provides almost half of Toronto's drinking water. The building was designed in the art-deco style and is known colloquially as the Palace of Purification for its grand architecture both inside and out. The plant was named after Rowland Caldwell Harris, who was Toronto's Commissioner of Works at the time of construction.

Scene was shot The Hearn Generating Station is a decommissioned power plant originally built for coal back in 1951 and converted to natural gas in the 70s. The plant was shut down in the 80s and the site has sat largely unused since then. Most of the equipment inside the plant was scrapped in 2002 when the site was slated to be turned into a film studio, but those plans were eventually abandoned.

After passing through a number of owners, the city seized the property in 1933 and it was soon leased by the Kiwanis Club for 74 years. The mansion is currently available for tours.
