Scene was shot The John Ferraro Building was constructed in 1965 to consolidate operations for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. It is a 17-story building designed by A.C. Martin & Associates in the Corporation-International Style. The pond surrounding the building is part of building's air conditioning and heating systems, reducing power usage in the summer and allowing the building to be heated without a boiler in the winter. The concrete slabs extending past the windows act as shades to also help keep the building cool.

Scene was shot Griffith observatory was constructed in 1935 on land donated by Griffith J. Griffith specifically for the creation of the observatory and museum for the public. The building was designed by architect John C. Austin in Greek & Beaux-Arts styles and contains only the third planetarium to open in the country. The observatory's iconic status and great views of the city have made it a very popular filming location.

Scene was shot A tunnel running 4.5 blocks under downtown Los Angeles from Figueroa to Hill, the 2nd Street Tunnel was opened in 1924 to help reduce traffic on the nearby 3rd Street Tunnel. The tunnel is lined with distinctive glossy white tiles which cast distorted reflections giving the tunnel a very visually interesting appearance which has led to its popularity in film and television.
