The plot of the movie is set in London, and the director (Guy Ritchie) wants to show us the real city as a real hero, to show how gangsters interact with billionaires, and ordinary people have to live and do business with the balance of power. He does it all with the help of various and very interesting real London locations. That's why all the shooting took place on location and the movie used almost no sets.
