Scene was shot Alcatraz Island is located in San Francisco Bay, 1.25 miles (2.01 km) from the shore of San Francisco. Alcatraz Island is home to the abandoned prison, the site of the oldest operating lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States and early military fortifications. The jail held famous criminals such as Al Capone, Robert Franklin Stroud also known as the Birdman of Alcatraz. A total of 36 prisoners made 14 escape attempts. On June 11, 1962, Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin carried out one of the most famous escapes ever devised. It was Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy who ordered the penitentiary to be closed on March 21, 1963.

Scene was shot The hotel was named after mining magnate and U.S. Senator James Graham Fair (1831–94), by his daughters, Theresa Fair Oelrichs and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt, who built the hotel in his honor. The hotel was nearly completed before the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Although the structure survived, the interior was heavily damaged by fire, and opening was delayed until 1907.

Scene was shot The structure was originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was rebuilt in 1965. The most prominent building of the complex, is the open rotunda. It is a 162 feet (49 m) high. On the floor underneath the dome is a plaque for the Lucasfilm Foundation, the charity foundation by Star Wars creator George Lucas. The Palace of Fine Arts is only a 11 minute walk away from the offices of Lucasfilm in San Francisco. Fans of Star Wars do not want to miss the Yoda Fountain which is accessible tot the general public.
