Barry Lyndon
Year: 1975
Country: Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom

The movie is based on the novel “Barry Lyndon's Luck” by writer William Makepeace Thackeray and tells about the life of an ordinary Irish lad of the 18th century who “grew up” to an aristocratic position in society. Filming of the picture took place in Dublin, as well as throughout Ireland. The team of the movie shot luxurious palaces and castles of England, and for the filming of some scenes moved to Germany. Stanley Kubrick's team sought to capture the spirit of the luxurious life of 18th century aristocrats. To do this, they captured views of 17 castles and country houses across the UK.
