Den vyborov
Year: 2007

In the movie “Election Day” the main character was a motor ship, on board of which most of the events unfold. The picture played an important role not only in popularizing, but also in promoting cruise holidays. After the release of the movie significantly increased interest in river cruises, as well as the three-deck ship “Sergei Abramov”, which became a symbol of the story. Filming took place in the summer of 2006, in June and July, on the Upper Volga, in the Tver and Yaroslavl regions. Some scenes were filmed in Beliy Gorodok, Uglich, Yaroslavl, as well as on the territory of the Northern River Station in Moscow.

Locations
River Station
In movie
Scene where The river adventure begins. Our heroes find themselves in the same boat, pardon the pun, and set off on a campaign race for votes. The ship is bustling, all the campaigners are gathering.
Real
Scene was shot At the Northern River Station in Moscow, a small but incredibly picturesque structure located on the bank of the Khimki Reservoir. The station is a building in the Stalinist Empire style, built back in 1937. Its main facade is decorated with columns, arches and stucco, and the central tower is crowned with a spire with a five-pointed star. The square in front of the station is designed as a spacious promenade with fountains, green areas and alleys with a panoramic view of the reservoir and moored motor ships.
The church grounds
In movie
Scene where A helicopter lands with two dubious characters - Borey and Fedya. They try to convince (rather intimidate) the organizer of the election campaign, saying that the people already have a governor and a lot of people died during the previous elections.
Real
Scene was shot The Church of the Jerusalem Icon of the Mother of God in the Tver region. This is a unique place combining historical and spiritual value with the picturesque nature surrounding the shrine. The temple stands on the bank of the Volga River, which makes it accessible for viewing during cruises and river excursions.
Wharf
In movie
Scene where A Cossack detachment solemnly arrives at the wharf where the motor ship “Sergei Abramov” is moored. The ataman walks at the head of the column, radiating determination and sternness. He is accompanied by Cossacks dressed in national costumes and papakhas. Our heroes are obviously very excited about the arrival of such a detachment.
Real
Scene was shot At the Central Pier of the city of Uglich. This picturesque place on the bank of the Volga River is ideal for shooting, especially if you need to convey the atmosphere of a provincial Russian town with historical flavor. The pier is located near the city center, surrounded by natural scenery, historical buildings and temples, which creates a unique combination of architecture and natural beauty. The pier also offers a magnificent view of the Volga River with its green banks.
