<p>The thriller impresses not only with a tense plot, but also with carefully selected locations. The main filming took place in Baltimore and Washington, DC. In Washington, D.C., viewers can recognize such famous neighborhoods as Georgetown, Dupont Circle and the grand staircase in the Treasury Building. Baltimore was the scene for tense episodes: a chase through the Consolidated Coal Company's coal warehouses near the Patapsco River was filmed here, as well as scenes at the site of the old Dr Pepper plant, which added an industrial flavor to the film. The geography of the filming doesn't stop there, however. In Pasadena, on Madeline Drive, the Craven Mansion was used as the law office of Robert Clayton Dean, and some scenes were recreated in Los Angeles, allowing for cinematic layering and realism.</p>

Today, the building is owned by the American Red Cross and used as its office while remaining privately owned.
