Ivan feels obliged to try to rescue him. St. Petersburg turns out to be a labyrinth of streets and courtyards, where Ivan tries unsuccessfully to find the right address. Its central location and accessibility make it convenient for the film crew. The bridge offers a beautiful view of the Fontanka River and the architectural ensemble of the city center, creating a visually appealing and atmospheric shot. In the end, John is unable to raise the required amount.

    Real

Scene was shot in London on the seafront opposite Tower Bridge. The choice of this location for filming was due to several factors. Firstly, Tower Bridge is an instantly recognizable symbol of London and the whole of Great Britain. Secondly, the waterfront offers picturesque panoramic views of the Thames and the city, creating an attractive backdrop for the scene. Third, the solid appearance of the bridge and embankment can emphasize John's high social status and the magnitude of the problem he faced. Fourthly, the waterfront as a public place adds to the realism of what is happening. The use of this location created a visually impressive and atmospheric scene, emphasizing John's desperation when faced with the impossibility of raising a huge sum of money to save his fiancée.

  • Station

    In movie

Scene where Ivan, after returning from captivity, sits by the train station with a fellow soldier. They are eating ice cream and discussing plans for the future. In this scene, Ivan is trying to adapt to a peaceful life after his experiences in captivity. He feels lost and cannot find his place.

    Real

Scene was shot opposite the Yaroslavsky railway station. The choice of this location for filming was due to several factors. The station is a symbol of arrival and departure, the beginning and end of the journey. After the captivity Ivan is at a crossroads, and the station reflects his state of uncertainty and his search for further direction in life. The station is a place where people meet and part, where life boils, which adds to the realism of what is happening on the screen. It is also important that next to the Yaroslavsky station is the Leningradsky station. This circumstance adds additional meaning to Ivan's plans to go to St. Petersburg, since it is from the Leningradsky station that trains depart in that direction.
