Scene was shot in the city of Kirovsk, Murmansk region. “We carefully watched many hours of races in Trondheim 1997, chose and watched and thought about where to shoot, - shares Sergey Gudilin. - In the Murmansk region I looked at a lot of ski tracks and in Kandalaksha, and in Monchegorsk, and in Kirovsk. And we realized that the track of the Tirvas sports complex in Kirovsk is very similar to the one in Trondheim: both the location and the stadium. And we recreated it! The banners alone were half a kilometer long. In addition, in 1997 Trondheim celebrated its 1000th anniversary, so there was a lot of symbolism, which was also recreated.
